Jefferson Electric LLC provides full service design and installation of solar energy systems for your home, business, or church. Locally owned and operated in Indianapolis, IN, we want to earn your business and trust with our dedication to customer service and knowledgeable team members. Our team consists of NABCEP trained installers, Master Electricians, Licensed General Contractor, and Factory Trained Technicians. We give continual attention to excellence in customer satisfaction while perpetually improving and adapting new technologies in every area of business and service.  

Administrative Staff

Joel Walsman - Chief Executive Officer

Joel was trained by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), the premier organization for solar qualifications. He has a passion for team building, making working meaningful beyond the vocation, and green technologies, as well as a desire for sustainable relationships and business practices. He and Kristy, his lovely wife of ten years, have been blessed with four boys and two girls.

Rob Walsman - Chief Financial Officer

Rob has worked in various technical fields from long-haul fiber telecommunications to airborne systems. At Jefferson, he keeps the books in order and is willing to troubleshoot anything. He has been married for 36 years, has 6 grown children, and 16 grandchildren (so far).

 

Mary Abigail Coleman - Office Manager

Mary Abigail keeps the office organized and running smoothly. She assists the account managers in anything they need, keeps the website updated, and manages Jefferson’s social media. She has four siblings, two nieces and nephews, and two wonderful parents. In her free time she reads, spends time with family and friends, hikes, and prepares to begin a doctorate in theology.

Adriane Kattner - Human Relations Director

Adriane loves people, so when he gets a chance to help craft a healthy work environment or aid in the advancement of a fellow coworker, it isn’t just business. It’s relational. In his free time he reads, listens to music, and adventures with his wonderful wife and patient cat.

Max Kennerk - Senior Account Manager

Max enjoys delivering innovative energy solutions that allow customers to eliminate their utility bills, protect the environment, and increase their energy independence.He is certified by NABCEP in photovoltaic (solar) technical sales. He and his lovely wife live on the near eastside of Indianapolis with their three children and a Chinese foreign exchange student.

Nate Cooper - Account Manager

Nate received a BSCE and MSCE from Purdue University, focusing on energy efficiency design and sustainable systems. "I believe in the mission of Jefferson because we have a high calling to steward this earth we have been given. The work we do fits perfectly with my ultimate dream of doing sustainable business as mission on a global scale for those in need." Nate and his wife, Natasha, have a daughter (Kennedy - 2016) and a second on the way in spring of 2018!

Scott Biggs - Senior Account Manager

Scott spent years in corporate sales and sales management, primarily in the fields of technology and manufacturing where his focus was on national and strategic accounts. At Jefferson, he focuses in the commercial sector, enabling his clients to be better stewards of the community and increase the profitability of their enterprise. He is also certified by NABCEP in photovoltaic (solar) technical sales. He and his wife of 33 years have long been residents of Zionsville, IN and have one daughter and a cat named Aslan.

Matt Beauchamp - Account Manager

Matt brings years of consultative sales experience to his job at Jefferson Electric. He loves working with people and firmly believes that he’s called to help people make sense of large decisions. He lives with his wife, Rachel, and two sweet, amazing children in Zionsville, IN. He enjoys hunting with his poodle, Parker, fishing, and camping with his family.

 
 

Warehouse Team

Seth Musen - Warehouse Manager

Seth has 18 years of warehouse experience, and effortlessly runs the Jefferson warehouse. He has been married to Cyrstal for 21 years and they have 5 daughters - Julia, Cadence, Emma, Vega, and Elsa.

Jamie Kattner - Warehouse Assistant

Jamie turns piles of disarray into well organized, usable space bringing calm out of chaos. She aides the technicians by running to pick up supplies, finding better organizational systems for the warehouse, and keeping the warehouse tidy. Her tiny family consists of her husband, Adriane, and their semi-fat cat, Marble.

Kevin Thomas - Warehouse Assistant

Kevin has abundant experience working in warehouses, most previously as a supervisor for Fastenal. He enjoys being busy and being able to help in situations that benefit others. Every morning as his coworkers pass through the warehouse, he greets them with a smile and a “Hello!” or “Good morning!” He is the father of Aisha and Kaeden and he and his family live their lives for God and just continue to grow with Him daily.

Doug Elliot - Operations Manager

Doug counts it a joy to be working with the team of Jefferson Electric where the character of the person is more important than the skills they possess and the customers are taken care of as if they were a part of the Jefferson family. He and his wonderful wife have five children and have been married for 20 years.

Matthew Chafey - Lead Electrician and Project Manager

Matt acquired extensive construction experience in his previous work on high-end remodels. As an electrician, he finds the most satisfaction in problem solving to best meet the customer’s needs. He and his wife have one son and have lived on the east side in Irvington for 14 years.

Sean Staley - Lead Electrician and Project Manager

Sean enjoys providing for his family, working with his hands, and the challenge of leading projects. He likes to figure out how a project can be streamlined so that it is executed quickly and effectively. He met his wife while he was working on his master’s in Germany, and their three children speak both English and German.

Chris Jones - Electrical Apprentice Chris is in his first years at the ABC trade school. He loves the process of building something with his own hands and seeing the finished product. He finds that electrical work comes with its own unique challenges, but that it never feels like hard work. He and his wife, Sarah, have been married just over a year and are expecting their first baby in April!
